Thanksgiving doesn’t happen here, but here’s a few: my family, friends, Pepper, health, hope, home, books and, duh, Neighbours.

WOLLERTON HALL, POP ART NAILS + PS2 GAMES
WOLLERTON OLD HALL
Over the weekend we visited Wollerton Old Hall garden, and it was EXACTLY my kind of place. I’m a pretty haphazard gardener, and I love traditional, cottage style gardens that have character and meadow/wild flower spaces.
One of my favourite places was this: the Croft Garden. If you look closely you can see the little bridge nestled amongst the midges and the wildflowers! It was set over a small, natural-looking pond - so beautiful!
Below you can see a view of the window of a small out house - can you imagine this as a little writing hide-away?! I’m sure I’d still be totally capable of procrastinating here too, but what a pretty place to do so!
The water feature below was set in another ‘room’, with plenty of wisteria and lovely, rusty old fences. This garden was in green and white bloom and the combination worked SO well - it looked beautiful.
Now we get to the inevitable afternoon tea segment! Yeah, I’m totally aware that every blog I write here involves me sitting down to tea and scones at some point! I did warn you a couple of blogs ago that I could easily live off them. The tea room was GORGEOUS, so pretty.
We then came across basically my future house - this is my kind of place, you guys! SO pretty, and the scent of lilac drifted throughout as all the trees were in flower.
As we left I noticed this rain-drenched sign and had to grab a picture for you guys - the British summer on one piece of paper!
On the plus side, that day it was actually just about warm enough to brave bare arms and enjoy my Kelly Brook top!
POP ART NAILS
On Sunday I was babysitting and the girls SO kindly spent ages doing my nails for me! We decided to go for bright pop art colours to compliment the white and black, and then I had jewels stuck on top too! They are sooo cute - easily some of my favourite nails ever - thank you girls!
PS2 GAME NOSTALGIA
My bro and I were talking about an old PS2 demo we used to have with one tiny section of a game we were obsessed with - but we didn’t know its name! We eventually found it on YouTube through another demo that was on the disc - Airblade - and it’s Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil! The bit that we’d played constantly on was ‘Jungle Slider’ - here’s a bit of nostalgia for you!
I’m gonna leave you now to listen to the Gatsby soundtrack on repeat! Guys, it’s SO good. It’s PERFECT for the film and the film is PERFECT. I keep thinking about it and it’s SO, SO GOOD! If you haven’t seen it yet you might still have time - if you do, you must go!
See you later,
SHOPPING, GATSBY AND CURRICULUM VITAE
Hello pretty babies!
SINCE WE LAST SPOKE
I’ve been having a busy little week! Wednesday was great because I got to meet up with Mehgan and another of our friends for a milkshake and a gossip - and, obviously, a little peruse of the charity shops, even though it was pouring with rain! On Thursday I was pretty excited about my tripod arriving - as you can see below, I now have a new film set-up! Totally stoked that you can now see my artistic background
my collage of Company magazines.
Ugh, mom and I went to see Gatsby again on Thursday night - my mom hadn’t seen it yet and I was more than happy to accompany her! She really enjoyed it and I found it just as entertaining the second time round - it’s SO good. If you haven’t been yet, please go!
My mom and I also went on a quick shopping trip on Thursday. I was desperately in need of a moisturiser - as I’ve been neglecting my skin, guys, by being cheap and holding out! - so I’ve gone for a Simple one and I’ll let you know if I like it! We’ve also been around the shops properly today, and I’ve INVESTED in a new Miss Sporty foundation at £3.49 - inexcusably expensive, I know, but my skin is a temple and let it never be said that I don’t put the necessary cash in.
I also fell head over heels (get it?!) for a pair of shoes! We were in TK Maxx which was obviously a terrible idea, and I saw a lovely pair of Rocket Dog heels, navy blue and covered in daisies! I’m pretty sure they fit purrrfectly but honestly my feet were in a right state by this point (first time it’s been warm enough to go without tights/socks this year!) so trying on new shoes was a bit painy to say the least! They’re a really nice height for me and the heel is chunky enough to wear them casually and comfortably!
Tonight I’ve been working on my CV with my brother and you know what, I actually really enjoyed it! Look at it this way, my little diamond Divinias: you’re spending sentence after sentence putting forward everything that’s good about you - confidence boost! It was really just lovely to look back at everything that I’ve got up to and think about the things that I am looking forward to doing! Thanks are owed to you beauties for making a lot of it happen, too. THANK YOU. <3 My favourite piece of CV advice so far is DEFINITELY: “Include brief details of interests…however avoid phrases including 'socialising’, ‘partying’ etc..”
Speak to you soon, polaroid princesses!
Remember when I dressed up as Regina George and Cady Heron? I’ve nearly finished editing that video.
VINTAGE FAIR, BOWS AND SCONES
So after saying yesterday that I definitely wasn’t going to paint my nails last night I definitely did, but it actually went alright and I really like them! They’re nude with black half moons that I coloured on with liquid eyeliner and they aren’t even that wobbly! It’s luckay that I did get my nails did last night because I’d never have had time this morning as I took FOREVER to decide on an outfit - after asking you guys on Twitter I eventually picked a charity shop retro top and my new Kelly Brook skirt, + leopard print shoesies and jewelz.
I was going to the fair with Mehgan and Eilis and when we got there it was SO much better than expected. I have vlogged a lot for you but DEVASTATINGLY my dad had forgotten his phone and borrowed mine, so I didn’t get to record inside! </3 Fortunately Eilis stepped up as camera woman so we do have some footage that’ll be up sometime soon on KTV.
There were LOADS of stalls in all different rooms, full of rails of vintage clothing, cupcakes, china and home-ware, and a REALLY cute little dog called Jude that I couldn’t resist going over to give a cuddle! We even found a burlesque stall with eyeball nipple tassels. I was sooooooooo tempted to buy a flamingo covered skirt or a necklace with a pin-up girl on it but FUNDS, you know?! I had to be careful today but I DID make a purchase…
We went to the CUTEST stall that was headed up by a girl called Rae who makes her own bows - they were ADORABLE! We were there chatting and deciding for absolutely aggggeess: in the end I went for a pink polka dot bow with a milkshake in the middle, Mehgan for a watermelon bow and Eilis for a Star Trek theme! I also picked up a really pretty flower hair clip for just £1! If you want to get your hands on your own (and there’s LOADS to choose from) check out Raenbowsdesigns on Twitter!
TEA AND SCONES
Obviously we had to go to the tea rooms, and I got served the dearest vintage teacup! Mehgan and I also HAD to go for cream and jam scones, because how could you NOT at a vintage fair? I think I could live off tea and scones.
I’m back now and recovering from a horrible incidence of travel sickness - it was so hot and ughhhhh in the car that it really put me off kilter! Tonight I think it’s definitely time for Neighbours - OMG I H8 STEPH SO MUCH UGH BUT I WANT VANESSA’S WARDROBE PLEASE - and cuddles with little Peppy dog. Can’t wait to style my new accessories in my hair - who knows what we could achieve! ;) I also have a sewing lesson tomorrow - eee! Really looking forward to the days when I can just whip up something on the sewing machine without it being a disaster!
See you soon little va va vintage Veras!
